Find everything you need to know about licensing, trip timing, gear provisions, and what to expect on your upcoming Nova Scotia angling adventure.
1. Do I need to buy a fishing license before the trip?
Yes, all guests aged 16 and older must purchase a valid Nova Scotia fishing license prior to boarding. You will need a non-tidal license for our inland lake multi-species and backcountry brook trout trips, or a tidal license if we are targeting striped bass in coastal or migratory waters.
2. What happens if the weather is bad on the day of my charter?
Your safety on the water is our absolute highest priority. If poor weather, high winds, or unsafe river conditions make it impossible to fish comfortably, we will work with you to reschedule your trip to the next available date or provide a full refund.
3. Do you provide all the fishing gear, or should I bring my own?
We provide everything you need for a successful day on the water, including top-tier rods, smooth reels, custom eco-friendly tackle, and all safety life jackets. However, if you have a favorite lucky rod or specific fly-fishing setup you prefer to use, you are more than welcome to bring it along.
4. Are your trips suitable for beginners and families?
Absolutely. All of our guided experiences are fully tailored to your specific skill level, and we specialize in patient, hands-on instruction for first-time anglers, children, and families. Our goal is to provide a supportive, stress-free environment where you can learn foundational skills and build confidence on the water.
5. What should I pack for a backcountry or tidal river trip?
We highly recommend dressing in comfortable layers and packing a reliable waterproof jacket, as marine and wilderness weather can shift quickly. You should also bring polarized sunglasses to reduce surface glare, sun protection, a personal camera or phone, and any preferred snacks or drinks you want to enjoy alongside the provided lunch.
